Jr. High School Program

DPISD is hosting a Summer Training Program for all our Jr. High athletes. The most important element of this camp is to provide the young athletes of Deer Park with a foundation in the world of speed, strength, agility, balance, and proper movement technique. With this foundation, the athletes of Deer Park will be able to use their newly acquired skills in their current sports as well as take the knowledge gained with them on into their high school careers and beyond.

All of our programs are designed by our Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists who have over 20 years of experience in designing and implementing programs for athletes ranging from Jr. High school to Division I and world class Olympic athletes.

WHY SHOULD JR. HIGH STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A STRENGTH PROGRAM?

Research indicates that maximum coordination is developed between the ages of 9 and 13, and that most young athletes who are involved with sports are lacking in the following areas: proper flexibility, range of motion, body coordination, and strength of musculature and connective tissue. With a proper strength and conditioning program, young athletes can reduce the chances of injury, stay healthy, and become successful at their sport.

We want to assure you that our goal is not to find out how much our Jr. High athletes can lift, but rather how they lift, how they run, how they change direction. Developing these good habits at an early age will put them years ahead of where our current high school athletes came into the program.
